Settings

Customize the BoostDraft experience further

Located in the BoostDraft ribbon on the right side, Settings offers advanced options to customize your BoostDraft, from allowing BoostDraft to manage your passwords, discover shortcut keys, and even sneak peek at beta features still in development.

The following are explanations of the options you will see in the Settings window.

Auto launch BoostDraft when Word starts up

By default, BoostDraft add-in will automatically start when you open Word.  In the event you do not wish to use BoostDraft every document and/or would like to switch it on on-demand, then you could toggle this off.  However, you will be making it slightly harder for yourself to access many time saving features.

Enable Password Manager

By default, BoostDraft allows you to save passwords, making opening password protected documents faster from the 2nd time onward.  Manage saved passwords by accessing the "See Saved Passwords" button on the right side of the Settings windowIf you are concerned about BoostDraft's access to your passwords, feel free to toggle this off.

Enable Definition Database

On the BoostDraft toolbar, you can find the 'Definition Library' under Navigation > Defined Term > Definition Library. This records all defined terms in a file called '%AppData%' on your computer. This file will hold defined terms across all of your documents, which is helpful when a defined term is referenced in more than one document.  If you do not want this file to be saved on your computer, you can turn off Definition Library using this toggle.

Auto Hide formatting track changes when Word starts up

You can turn on 'Track Changes' through Word, which will note each change to the document and require each to be reviewed before finalizing.  With this feature, Word automatically requires formatting changes to be reviewed, which can be tedious.  To automatically have Word remove formatting changes from its 'Track Changes' list, leave this toggle turned on.

Enable beta features

By default, BoostDraft beta features are enabled in Word.  We love for our users to try them and give us feedback so that you will enjoy improvements faster.  However if you are not interested, feel free to toggle this option off.

Enable Software rendering (For old computers)

If you have an older computer, your Graphics Driver may be out of date.  Under such condition, features such as Proofreading may not display properly.  If you're having trouble displaying pop-ups, then try toggling on this setting.

Enable detailed logging

This is a backend setting and is not important for most users.  Please contact your BoostDraft representative if you have specific questions about this feature.

Auto Complete Mode

When you type, BoostDraft shows suggestions for sections, defined terms, etc. However, often times these can become overwhelming.  Use this dropdown to update how often suggestions are shown while typing:

Language Detection

This is very important if you work with documents of different lanuguages.  BoostDraft typically knows automatically which language your document is written in, then parses it appropriately. However, if you mix different languages, BoostDraft may parse the document incorrectly.  To override the language used to parse the document, change this setting to the desired language.

Configure shortcut keys

Use function keys to perform actions within BoostDraft.  Each action can be linked to specific actions and enabled/disabled as preferred/
